Then Iron Maiden regrouped to work on a new album, but it was Adrian Smith chose to leave the band due to lack of enthusiasm. Janick Gers was chosen to replace Smith and became the first member of a new Maiden again after 7 years of Iron Maiden at no change of the composition of personnel.
