Carlos grew up in Mexico. It came from a family of musicians. His father was a violin player. Of course, he also learned to play the violin at the age of 5 years to be exact. But at the age of 8 years he moved to guitar. Indeed, in Latin countries like Mexico, including guitar musical instrument most widely held. When the family moved to Tijuana, Carlosa started playing at clubs and bars.
After the family moved to San Francisco, in 1966 he formed a band called Santana Blues Band. However, because the name of the group is considered to be less suited to the needs of record labels and because Santana is dominating role in the group, hence the name appendage removed Blues Band and Santana have finally put a name to this day. Carlos played in this band Latin rhythmic music with instruments consisting of players piano, bass, tambourine, percussion, trumpet, and so on. In 1969, Santana appeared in one of the greatest musical performances, Woodstock. The performance was recorded on an album and video. Surprisingly recording huge success.
Finally albums Abraxas (1970), Santana III (1971) following the success of the previous album. Devadip name is actually not the birth name of Carlos. The name was given by Carlos spiritual teacher, the guru Sri Chinmoy. Apparently the effects of spiritual learning is very influential on musical skill Carlos. He often took the theme and the lyrics are somewhat touching the unseen world. Carlos tried almost a year later became a solo artist and member of the recording group without Santana. He had recorded with Buddy Miles also with John McLaughlin that eventually spawned the album 'Love Devotion Surrender'. The album was released in 1973, while the previous year with Carlos Santana album entitled 'Caravanserai' was released to the market.
Beginning in 1974 and beyond to Santana won several gold selling albums were successful. Borboletta (1974), Amigos (1975), Festival (1976), Moonflower (1977), and Inner Secrets (1978) are the albums that fly the name Santana then not only in the continental U.S. only, but has started to spread to several European countries such as English and Spanish.
Carlos has also released a tribute album to his favorite musicians such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Marvin Gaye, etc.. He had also released a collaboration album with 2 brothers. They named themselves Santana Brothers. The collaboration album was nominated by the Grammy Awards for the category "Best Rock Instrumental Performance" in 1994.
Over the next 5 years as Santana disappeared from the recording world. But apparently he was concentrating on preparing a spectacular album. 1999, Santana released an album that is a mixture of the project by displaying the works of other artists as well as a host of other artists such as Eric Clapton, Rob Thomas, etc.. The album was given the title of 'Supernatural' was a huge success. Even arguably the most successful album of her career Carlos and the Santana band.
